Personalization profiles let you control how customers customize products in the Design Studio. Setting up a clear profile ensures your users get the right tools and options whenever they personalize an item.
With personalization profiles, you decide what customization options—like images, text, and backgrounds—customers have when designing products in the Design Studio. This guide walks you through creating and configuring a profile step by step.
Step 1: Click the Settings icon in the Design Studio dashboard.
Step 2: Select Personalization Profile from the menu.
Step 3: Click Add new to create a new profile, then enable the toggle to activate it after saving.
Step 4: Choose the product type (such as Printing or Merchandise) the profile will apply to. Give the profile a clear name—like Print Personalization Profile.
Step 5: Pick the unit of measurement for this product (e.g., centimeters or inches).
Step 6: Enable or disable tools like Text, Art, or Photos. When enabled, these options appear for customers customizing their products.
Step 7: Enable Image Upload if customers should add their own pictures. Set the minimum acceptable image resolution (DPI) so only high-quality uploads are allowed.
Step 8: Adjust margin settings—safe, bleed, and cut margins—to define the safe design area for the customer. These automatically match your chosen unit.
Step 9: Decide if customers can add backgrounds. Enable Allow background to let them use their own images or pick specific background colors. Choose to allow a full color picker or restrict to a preset color palette.
Step 10: Choose how customers select colors for design elements—use a color picker or restrict to palettes you've made.
Step 11: Set any extra options if needed—like rounded corners or a border in the design area. Use the VDP (Variable Data Printing) feature for advanced personalization. If your product needs fold lines, pick the style here as well.
Step 12: Click Submit to save your profile. It’s now available for use in the Design Studio.
