Start by logging into the DesignO admin panel and clicking on the products link in the left panel. This will display a list of already configured products within DesignO.
There are two methods to set up a new product.
Cloning an Existing Product
Step 1: If the new product is similar to an existing one, select that existing product and click on the clone option.
Step 2: The cloning process will duplicate the existing product, copying all of its properties.
Step 3: Change the SKU to the SKU of the new product and fetch it.
Step 4: Save the new product.
This method saves time as it avoids creating a new product from scratch.
Adding a New Product
Step 1: Click on the add new product option.
Step 2: Define whether this product is enabled for ordering on your online store, whether it can be customized, and assign the SKU for the product.
Step 3: Assign it to the respective store for which it is available or if it is an offline store or offline product.
Step 4: Click on the fetch button.
Step 5: The fetch button will auto populate the product properties, like product name, category, images, short description, long description, images. If it's not a product available on your online store, enter these values and save it as a product that becomes part of your offline product catalog.
Step 6: Categorize it into multiple product categories. Add any new product category by clicking on the plus button.
Step 7: Enter the weight and the dimensions of the product that can be used for shipping or other purposes.
Step 8: Define the type of the product out of the four different product types that DesignO supports, and assign it a production profile that defines the artwork settings for print-ready output.
Step 9: Define the short description, long description, and tags for further purpose and product management purpose.
Step 10: Upload product images for display purpose.
Step 11: If your product is enabled for personalization, define whether this product will be allowed to be personalized using full editor only, form editor only, or both of them.
Step 12: Define a personalization profile to control all the features that will be available to the users for personalizing this product.
Step 13: Define if this product has a fixed size, for example, a business card that can be in a fixed size of 3.5 inches by 2 inches and the number of pages that it offers for personalization.
Step 14: Assign a default template to the product so that when someone clicks on the personalized button, it opens up with a predefined editable design template.
Step 15: Assign multiple templates for this product to offer choice to your customers to begin with a predefined and editable template for personalization.
Step 16: If you want to display a 3D preview, enable the 3D preview and upload the 3D model.
Step 17: If you want to enable people to order this product by uploading a print ready artwork they have, enable it using this feature.
Step 18: Finally, submit to create your product within DesignO and link it with the respective product in e-commerce.
