Learn to create a merchandise product template in DesignO. This tutorial covers the entire process, from crafting the template to linking it to a product.

Please note that the video and article screenshots may appear slightly different due to ongoing DesignO version upgrades. The tutorial video was originally recorded on DesignO Version 2.0, whereas the help article has now been updated to reflect Version 2.5. As a result, certain UI elements, screen layouts, or timestamp references in the screenshots may vary from what is shown in the video. However, the overall functionality, workflow, and process demonstrated in both the video and the article remain the same and accurate. The steps can be followed as demonstrated, irrespective of the minor interface differences caused by version enhancements.

Creating the Template

Step 1: Navigate to the Templates page.

Step 2: Choose Add New Templates.

Step 3: Select DesignO Magento for the store. Input a template name and assign it to a category.

Step 4: Select the personalization profile that corresponds to the product.

Step 5: Select the product for which the template is being created. In this instance, it's a t-shirt. Click Submit.

Designing the Template

Step 1: After submitting, the system redirects to the template library page. Click on the design icon of the newly created template.

Step 2: This leads to the template builder page. Here, design the template for the product.

Step 3: For this example, a minimal design is used. Add one artwork to each side of the t-shirt.

Step 4: To save the template, click on Save.

Assigning the Template to a Product

Step 1: Return to the Products page.

Step 2: For the t-shirt product, under Set Default Design Template, select the category (in this case, Merchandise) and the recently created template.

Step 3: Click on Done, and then on Submit to save the changes.

The template is now linked to the product.

Viewing the Template

Step 1: Go to the product on the storefront.

Step 2: Select the desired color and size, then click on the Personalize option.

The newly created template is visible for both the front and back of the product.

This tutorial concludes the process of creating and assigning a template for a merchandise product in DesignO. Although this guide used a minimal design for demonstration, more complex designs can be created as required.
