How File Upload Feature Works in DesignO?

In today's tutorial, we will delve into the functionality of the file upload feature, guiding you on how to enable it, manage file extensions, and understand its comprehensive utility. Let's embark on this journey together.

To start, I'll demonstrate how the file upload feature works on the website's frontend. I'll use a business card as an example, showcasing the capability to upload files seamlessly. This functionality streamlines the process for customers, enabling them to proceed to checkout effortlessly by simply uploading their files.

Click on upload button

File upload pop-up will appear

Customer can upload their desired files to upload. Following this step, they proceed to checkout,

The platform supports a wide array of file formats, including JPEG, PNG, PDF, AI, EPS, PSD, GIF, TIFF, CSV, RAR, ZIP, 7z, XLS, XLSX, DOC, DOCX, CDR, PPT, and SVG, among others. This extensive support ensures compatibility with various file types that users may need to upload.

Moreover, the feature is not just about uploading; it allows for customization.

Users can edit the upload settings to provide specific instructions or recommendations about file formats. Additionally, it informs users about the maximum file size allowed, which is 205 MB. For files exceeding this limit, customers are advised to contact customer service for assistance. Another critical aspect covered is the artwork requirements, specifying a minimum resolution of 300 DPI for uploaded files. This ensures that all submissions meet the necessary quality standards for commercial printing.

For instance, as part of the proofing guide, you have the option to attach a PDF document. This document can be downloaded and used for reference by your clients.

You can include detailed information in the PDF, such as bleed margin, cut line, and safety line, providing a comprehensive proofing guide. This feature is particularly useful for conveying precise specifications and details.

Upon proceeding to the next step, the system has already uploaded the artwork file. On the following page, it displays the photo, offering options to fit it to the page, add a white border, or crop and resize.

After making the necessary changes, you can continue to the checkout process. This page provides an option for customers to leave specific instructions if needed. This step is a standard part of the e-commerce workflow, guiding customers seamlessly to the checkout page.

To understand how the backend setup works

Upon accessing the DesignO dashboard, one can navigate to the specific product they wish to modify.

The next step click on "Upload Artwork Configuration" and enable "Enable File Upload" toggle

Once enabled, users will find an option for selecting a background image, which in this case, has already been chosen.

However, to customize this further, one can upload your own image. This is done by clicking on the settings and selecting the option to upload a new image.

After uploading the desired background image,

the next step involves adjusting the settings. This includes selecting the 'custom' option and then specifying the area where the background image will be applied.

You have complete control over how you wish to manage and modify the provided image. After making any necessary changes, proceed to click on the "Save" button.

Following that, you will find the PDF of the proofing guide, which is available for use. The next step involves returning to the business card section to utilize the same PDF file. To do this, click on the "Browse" button, then select the "Upload File" option.

Now, now you can write instructions for your customers .This feature allows you to input any specific instructions or information you wish to include.

After finalizing the text, the next step is to click on "Submit".

By clicking "Submit", your product details are securely saved. To verify or make changes, you can proceed to the front end.

Additionally, you can access the "Web2Print Setup," click on "Settings," and proceed to the "Upload Configuration" tab.

Below are the configurations you can set here:

  1. Upload Multiple Files: Determine whether users can upload multiple files.

  2. Upload Button Label: Customize the label of the upload button, which will be visible on the product page.

  3. Upload Button Text Color: Configure the color of the upload button to match your branding.

  4. Acceptable Image DPI (JPG/PNG): Specify the acceptable DPI (dots per inch) for images in JPG/PNG format. Files with DPI below the acceptable threshold will not be permitted for upload.

Now you can navigate to the product where you've made the configurations and click on the file upload button.

You can verify whether the instructions you set in the backend are visible or not. Additionally, ensure that the proof guideline PDF matches the one you uploaded in the backend.

Furthermore, please check the preview after uploading your files to ensure that the background is properly set.

This feature provides users with the flexibility to tailor the upload feature to meet their specific needs.
