How to Add and Manage Fonts in DesignO?

Please note that the video and article screenshots may appear slightly different due to ongoing DesignO version upgrades. The tutorial video was originally recorded on DesignO Version 2.0, whereas the help article has now been updated to reflect Version 2.5. As a result, certain UI elements, screen layouts, or timestamp references in the screenshots may vary from what is shown in the video. However, the overall functionality, workflow, and process demonstrated in both the video and the article remain the same and accurate. The steps can be followed as demonstrated, irrespective of the minor interface differences caused by version enhancements.

Explore the process of adding and managing fonts in DesignO. This guide demonstrates how to navigate the user interface, add new fonts, and check their appearance in the template builder or design studio.

Start by accessing the font library in the DesignO software.

Step 1: Navigate to the library section to find the fonts.

Step 2: Click on the Fonts.

This allows checking the appearance of the available fonts.

To add a new font not available in the library, follow these steps:

Step 3: Click on "Add new font".

Step 4: Enable the font and select the store.

Step 5: Enter the Display name for the font.

Step 6: Click on "Choose file" to open local storage and select the TTF files to upload.

Upload only TTF files to add the font file to the font library or font family. The system automatically creates the necessary files in the backend.

Important:
DesignO does not automatically generate Bold, Italic, or Bold Italic styles from a single font file.
To use different font styles in the Design Studio:

  • Upload separate TTF files for each style.

  • Each style must be added as its own font file.

For example:

  • Roboto-Regular.ttf → Regular

  • Roboto-Bold.ttf → Bold

  • Roboto-Italic.ttf → Italic

  • Roboto-BoldItalic.ttf → Bold Italic

Only the styles for which files are uploaded will be available in the text editor.

Step 8: Click on "Submit" to add the font.

Step 9: Click on the new font to see its automatically generated name.

To check if the font has been updated correctly, add some text in the design template and apply the new font.

Step 10: Navigate to the design template and add text.

Step 11: Search for the new font and apply it to the text.

The new font should now be working. If a bold file was uploaded, the bold option should also be functional.

Tip: If Bold or Italic options are not working in the Design Studio, ensure their respective TTF files were uploaded while adding the font.
