DesignO Pricing Part 1 : Product Options Configuration
DesignO Pricing Part 1 : Product Options Configuration
We will explore the innovative feature of pricing configuration introduced by DesignO. In part 1, we are doing to teach you, how to do product configuration.
Step 1:Add product within the eCommerce, incorporating all necessary basic settings as required in eCommerce including assigning a SKU.
The product is identified with an SKU, facilitating its setup in the DesignO.
Step 2: To view the setup product in the DesignO, one must log into the DesignO panel.
Step 3: From there, navigate to the products link, where the option to create a new product is available if it hasn't been set up already.
For demonstration purposes, reference is made to a pre-existing product setup, utilizing the same SKU to link it to the e-commerce product.
This step involves configuring all the necessary settings to enable personalization of the product using the DesignO.
Step 3: E-commerce pricing is turned off
Finally, the product is defined, now we need to define product options.
The e-commerce pricing is turned off for the desired product. Setting up the pricing for any product involves a two-step process.
Step 4 :Set Quantity Options
The initial step involves configuring the product and its custom options.
It is noted that product quantity can be configured with only two fixed quantity options: Any quantity input and fixed quantity selection.
Upon accessing the product configuration, there is an option to set quantity options.
Although it is possible to allow customers to input any quantity for certain products, in this case, fixed quantity selections of fifty and one hundred have been chosen, with fifty set as the default option. A
Step 4 :Set Sizing Options
After setting the quantity options, the next step is to configure the sizing options. Here, one can either enable custom size input, allowing customers to specify height and width, or provide fixed size selections. In this instance, four fixed size options are provided: 2X1, 1X1, 3X2, and 2X2, with 2X1 set as the default.
Step 5 :Set Custom Options
Following the configuration of quantity and size options, the next step involves setting up custom options.
In this example, five custom options are available: material, lamination, rounded corners, printing time, and shipping.
During product configuration, the custom options and their applicable values are defined to be presented to the customer.
For instance, the material option is set up as mandatory, with the option to specify its weight and add an extra description if desired.
This platform enables the creation of custom options, offering a variety of UI elements to enhance user interaction. For instance, users have the flexibility to configure their customoptions as a text field, a check box, a drop-down menu, radio buttons, or even a hidden field.
Hidden fields are particularly useful for transferring data from the product page to DesignO without displaying this information to the end customers. Additionally, a swatch option is available,as well as an image drop-down which functions similarly to a standard drop-down but includes a thumbnail image for each option.
Step 6 : Set Exception Rules
Another notable feature of DesignO is the ability to implement exception rules for custom options, which regulate how these options interact with one another. For example, if a customer selects "vinyl" as the material for their stickers, exception rules can be applied to prevent the selection of lamination for that particular material.

Step 7 : Save Template
There's also the convenience of saving the product configuration as a template, facilitating the setup of similar products in the future. This feature significantly saves time and effort.
This concludes the initial segment on pricing configuration, highlighting the versatility and efficiency of DesignO in customizing product options and streamlining the product setup process.
