Step By Step Tutorial on Book Pricing Configuration

In this article, you'll learn how to manage pricing based on the number of pages and fetch the required number of pages from the product detail page to the tool.

Step 1: Begin by looking at the Excel sheet setup. Here, you'll see the number of books as a quantity and page interior. We'll divide this into two areas: the cover and the inner pages.

Step 2: Now, let's configure the design tool. Start by adding a product. Set the minimum quantity to 20 and the maximum quantity to 1000, keeping the default at 20.

Step 3: After setting the quantity inputs, create different ranges. Save your changes.

Step 4: Next, set the size. In this example, we've used two different sizes, keeping one as the default.

Step 5: Now, set the custom options. These include cover finishing, cover color, cover paper type, and color bound.

Step 6: Move on to the inner paper, or interior color. Link this with pages to define per page price for the custom option value. Add the details as per the sheet.

Step 7: For the number of pages, map this field with the pages. This ensures the correct number of pages for personalization as the design tool displays two pages at a time in the design area. Save your changes.

Step 8: Now, proceed with the pricing. Initially, keep this as zero. Move to the set custom option. If you want to add any minimum fee or setup fee for any of the custom options, you can do so. Otherwise, keep it as zero.

Step 9: Set the custom option price as per the actual sheet.

Step 10: Now, set the pricing for each option one by one, starting with the cover finishing. Refer to the actual sheet for pricing.

Step 11: Repeat this process for the inner paper type, inner colors, color bound, cover paper type, and cover color.

Step 12: Save your changes.

Step 13: Now, let's see how this pricing works. Select one of the sizes. As per the actual sheet, select all the options in the front end for the cover and for the inner color.

Step 14: Lastly, set the number of pages and the quantity. In this example, we've set the number of pages to 500 and the quantity to 1000.
