Image Resolution

Image Resolution

Image resolution measures how the number of pixels that fits into one inch. In printing, the higher the resolution will be, the higher the quality of the print will be produced. Whereas lower-resolution prints appear fuzzy and blurry.

For prints to appear sharper and more detailed, a resolution higher than 72 pixels per inch is necessary. Professional quality printing standard is usually set for 300 pixels per inch.

A resolution this higher can squeeze together the pixels enough to produce a sharper print. But if the image includes text, a 400-pixel-per-inch resolution will do perfectly. Besides, you’ll also have to adjust the size of the print as increasing the size of the image decreases resolution and decreasing it increases resolution.
