Bleed Line

Bleed Line

In printing, a bleed line is the outer edge of the paper that is not printed when you feed it through a printer. As a printer grabs paper by its edges it doesn’t print on the outer edges. Moreover, often the material is printed at a high speed that doesn’t allow the paper to feed into the printer in perfect alignment.

So, if you try to print images or logos all the way to the edges, your design will appear cut off in the final print. Understanding your bleed margins will help you set them correctly, so your final design won’t appear cut off at the edges.
