Skew Effect

Skew Effect

The skew effect is an issue that happens when a printed design or text appears tilted on a paper. A skew occurs when the movement of the paper does not match the print cartridge movement. This results in inconsistent print margins on the paper.

The squareness of the paper can affect the skew. Industry-standard for paper squareness is 0.003 inch per inch. Paper measurements should be added to the skew specification to obtain a skew tolerance specification.

You can test the skewness of the paper by printing on one side and then on the other. If the print on one side slopes but not on the other side, this means the squareness of the paper is affecting the skew.
