How to Set Up a Product for Personalization in DesignO Admin?

Personalized products let your customers add custom touches before ordering—great for business cards, gifts, and more. Here’s how to set up a business card product for personalization using the DesignO Admin panel.

Step 1: Log in to your DesignO Admin panel.

Step 2: Click Products in the main menu.

Step 3: Click Add New Product.

Step 4: Enable the product with the main toggle. If you want the product to be customizable, also enable the customization toggle.

Step 5: Enter a unique SKU, choose the assigned store, and click Fetch Product.

Step 6: Confirm that the product information loads correctly—product name auto-fills based on the fetched data. Choose a category for your product.

Step 7: (Optional) Set the product’s weight for shipping needs.

Step 8: Select the product type. For business cards, choose Printing.

Step 9: Pick a production profile depending on your selected type.

Step 10: Review the short and long descriptions and product image auto-filled from your ecommerce source. If missing, you'll see blank fields or only images.

Step 11: In Personalization Details, pick between the full editor, form-based editor, or both. Select the relevant personalization profile for print products.

Step 12: For template details, select available sizes and the number of pages customers can edit (e.g., two for a front and back business card). Set the default width and height.

Step 13: (Optional) Configure 3D preview settings by enabling the toggle and choosing a model if you have a 3D product. You can skip this if not needed.

Step 14: (Optional) Allow customers to Upload Artwork for their orders. Provide upload instructions if required and enable the option, or leave disabled.

Step 15: Click Submit to create the product.

Step 16: The new product appears in the Products list. Scroll to the right to access actions like view, edit, clone, delete, or set product and pricing configuration.

Personalized products increase customer satisfaction and help your products stand out. Try following these steps each time you add a new customizable item to your store!
