How to Create and Assign a Template to a Photobook Product

Designing a photobook product is easier when you use templates. Templates help your customers start with a ready-to-use design rather than a blank canvas. Here’s how to create a template and assign it to your photobook product. When customers personalize a photobook product, it’s best if a template appears instead of an empty design studio. This tutorial walks through the steps for creating a template and linking it to a specific photobook product, so shoppers always see your preferred starting design.

Step 1: Check Your Photobook Product Settings

Step 2: Note Product Dimensions and Default Page Count Go to the product settings. Record the width, height, and the default number of pages (found in the assigned personalization profile). You’ll need these for your template.

Assign a relevant category (like "Photo Products"). Leave thumbnail and description fields blank for now.

Step 4: Connect the Personalization Profile

Search for and select the same personalization profile that’s assigned to your product (for example, "book one Dynamic spine calculation").

Once selected, the template auto-fills with your product’s default pages, width, and height. Check these values for accuracy.

Click Submit to save and create your new template.
